MARCH 18, 2020 NEWSLETTER (exerpts):  Collective Global Experience, COVID-19 & Community

Hello friends and family,

I wanted to reach out and offer my love and support, and a voice of assurance while you and your loved ones are navigating the many layers of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. We are all being touched by this collective global experience, and if ever there is a time for community, and to hold each others hearts in loving kindness, it is now.

As a wellness practitioner, I am diligently communicating with my professional organizations and office medical director, as well as staying current with the daily medical updates being put forth by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)WHO (World Health Organization) and City of Austin Public Health.

Rest assured, I have always been in the practice of protecting both myself and my clients with extremely strict infection control protocols in the office. You can be completely confident that the cleaning agents I have used and will continue to use, are of the highest medical quality. It has always been my priority to protect both clients and myself from all possible pathogens (virus, bacteria, mold etc) and I adhere strictly to the highest standard of facility cleanliness set forth by I-ACT (International Association for Colon Hydrotherapy) as well as the NBCHT (National Board for Colon Hydrotherapy).

As you know, I see a wide range of clients in varying states of health. I very often work with immune compromised individuals that have to be acutely aware of their surroundings and potential exposure to toxic or infectious elements. It has always been my priority to keep my office hospital-grade clean and deliberately safe for everyone.

I have been putting mindful consideration to what I need to do to create extra padding around the safe container that my office has always been. More than ever, I want you to feel that you are in a restorative sanctuary, a respite, a place to regain your balance. I've asked myself, "what would make me feel the safest, and the most cared for if I was a client walking into my doors." Here's what I have come up with. I hope you find it as reassuring and protective as I do.

In love and light,
Juanita Watson

Safety Precautions In-Office

STANDARD PRACTICES that I've always implemented:

1: Use of hospital grade disinfectants and bleach cleaners in office
I disinfect my equipment after each colon hydrotherapy treatment with Cetylcide II*. I very carefully clean the bathroom with Clorox bleach after each session, and I clean doorknobs and light switches multiple times a day with Cetylcide II*.
*Cetylcide II: EPA-registered, broad-spectrum hospital disinfectant effective against 140+ disease-causing organisms including; HIV, MRSA, VRE, HBV, and Influenza A / Brazil Virus (H1N1).
2: Hand washing
If you've been in my office, you've seen me wash my hands...a lot. You've seen the colloidal silver soap bottles at every sink, and you've undoubtedly used it yourself. I strongly believe that it is the "over 25x/day" hand washing with this soap that allows me to be in such close proximity to sick people, yet stay completely free from common illnesses.
3. Circulate air in the colonic room by opening windows and turning fan on high
There is nothing better than opening a window and letting a little old air out, and fresh air in. I will continue to do this several times a day as always.
4. Periodic daily disinfecting of common area surfaces
This is a common practice that I typically bump in in the winter months. This includes the POS station, doorknobs, light switches, clothing hooks in bathroom, desk, chairs etc.

NEW PRACTICES to be more proactive during these times:

1. Clients to wash hands immediately upon entering the office
You'll be encouraged to get right into the bathroom before touching anything. Just simply set your personal belongings down and head to the bathroom, it is well stocked with colloidal silver soap (wash hands for at least 20 seconds). If you're coming for a colonic, you'll see that I've set your sheet in the bathroom rather than on the table.
2.  All sheets and towels will be washed with bleach added
It has been my common practice to use hot water for laundry and bleach only as needed. I will step this up and add bleach to every load.
3. If you have have recently travelled by commercial airlines, wait 15 days before coming in to the office
In a great attempt to flatten the curve, I ask that you wait 15 days to come into the office if you have recently been in a commercial airplane. This includes both domestic and international travel. If you are in need of supplements, let me know and I can get them drop shipped to your home.
4. Upgraded disinfecting protocols outside my suite in the main building common areas.
The property manager is providing our nightly janitorial service a list of daily disinfecting procedures that will cover the building common areas. These will include the frequently touched surfaces like the front door, bathrooms, etc.
5. Please do not come into the office if you have a cough or sneeze.
To protect everyone physically and mentally, please for the time being just wait until you are cough/sneeze-free or your allergies pass.
6. Sessions performed with nitrile gloves and face mask
I will be wearing gloves and a face mask during your entire session.
7. Use of ozone room "side door" to enter my office
If you would rather enter my office through the ozone room and bypass the main building door and hallway, I'd be happy to leave the side door unlocked (providing no one is in the ozone sauna). Just text me ahead of time so I have prior notice to unlock the door. 1-512-265-6333 (business cell)
8. No hugging
I'm a hugger, so this is going to be challenging. But for the next little while, no hugging and no handshaking. Let's connect with conscious eye to eye acknowledgment. There will be lots of time for hugging when we are on the other side of this.
9. If you have been around someone that has been diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus, please call me directly to see when it would be appropriate to come into the office.
Generally, if you are not experiencing any symptoms yourself after 15 days, current thought is that you are no longer a potential carrier of the virus. I will want to talk with you to assess your situation specifically, and look at the current medical updates available on that day.
10. Client distancing
I will navigate clients so there is no overlap or need to interact with other humans in the waiting room or treatment rooms. As you know, I am spread out into 3 rooms in my suite, with an entrance door to the main hallway as well as an outside entrance. This will be easy.
11. Personal social distancing (social responsibility)
I love my alone time to self-reflect, meditate, commune with nature, play my gong and bowls and let my creative side out (which often includes cleaning closets, working in my yard or various business projects). I am taking personal responsibility to flatten the curve of this virus by significantly minimizing social interactions outside the office, including all crowds and gatherings, and being extremely cautious when I am in closer proximity. I am limiting all potential of possibly bringing a virus into the office by my own interactions.
